It's a real pity. This is a very good site, but when free download disappearead was the beginning of the end. I hope that is not a health problem.

The person that put this special site together did it as a labor of love to this genre of music. He doesn't have to offer you anything, yet he does. It takes time and cost to put something like this together. I'm sure he is taking a much needed break from years of searching and refining and curating the music that appears here. But My Fucking God ... I have never seen so many whining ass bitches that appear on this site always complaining about how you can't download this or why that isn't free, damn.... dealing with those motherfuckers would make me close up this site. Some have nothing but rude remarks to leave, as if this site and music is owed to them. So sad that all those cheap ass wipes don't have just $60 fuckin' dollars to subscribe to TurboBit for a years worth of unlimited downloads !! Really!? So go somewhere else and download your shit, that is, if you think you can find something as special as DarkScene. Trust me, you won't.

I believe that massive action is currently being taken against copyright infringement-understandably that DS does not answer. Also the site "dark-world.ru" has not been available for several weeks ...
Let's hope the best!

CHAMELEON See, I appreciate what he's doing, though I know from experience that uploading a bunch of music that you may have tracked yourself through p2p or torrent to a file service isn't exactly hard work. People did it all the time back in the blogspot music sharing days and the reason why people flock here is because the latter are dead (mostly thanks to google rather than uploading itself, since no content was hosted directly on the site).

Now, complaining that other people were complaining about turbobit access is douchey. No, not everyone has to spend fucking 600$ on a website that is known to be shady and insecure as fuck. I'd rather go to a torrent or soulseek or buy the music from official places than throw money at a shitty website like tubrobit.

Whoever runs this site doesn't own the music either, my friend. I am pretty sure the person or people who run this also get something out of locking some files behind TB. I recognize that scheme from dl blogs which did the same with megaupload or adfly links to generate revenue with illegal content. Or why else would this site push me to use the premium service so hard? (also someone else pointed out ihere ages ago that the site mines cryptocurrency with your computer. I cannot verify this, but until I installed a crypto blocker and blacklisted some scripts this site was really pulling on my CPU. So it could be true that the site maintainer makes money through that too - super shady if true)

Anyway, that shit was partially why original megaupload was kicked in the ass and rightfully so. It's one thing when someone shares stuff illegally, we all know it's not allowed but we still dl, because some people just don't have the money or ability to buy as much music as they wanted. But it's another when people use something that's a legal grey are or no go and potentionally make money from it. And I know they could do that to finance their site, but there are better ways to do it and also communicate it. Some DL sites for example accept donations. It's far less risky also, because I am certain musicians and bands won't like it when a site generates its income through their work.

CD1334, well put.

I found this site sort of recently and couldn't believe how great it is. I've bought more music than I have in a long time thanks to being able to find new artists and labels and even entire GENRES.

I'm hoping it's just a break for a bit because I used to look forward to checking in and seeing what new material was posted. If it's the end, that's too bad, but I'll be patient and keep checking.

Chameleon: yeah it can be off-putting seeing people whining constantly or acting entitled but they wouldn't be doing it if they didn't like the site and what it offers. And you can't disagree that there has been a tremendous increase in links being locked behind TB premium, which can be frustrating for people that either can't afford an account or are unable to find the many services available to get around it.

Anyway, love the site and appreciate the work that has gone into it. Is there a donate button anywhere? If not that should be something to add.

I agree with you, guys. This is possibly the best site ever. Regarding TB premium, that´s not an issue if you know how to use a premium link generator. That´s the way I download everything here... I even reuploaded some albums to Zippyshare and then shared the links with some people here via private message. Of course, if I had the money I´d help to support the site, but for the time being I´m broke.disappointed

Regarding copyright, that´s a huge problem nowadays. I myself had a bad experience with copyright about 6 months ago. I used to make videos on YouTube about Loopmasters sample packs (you know, tools for making music)... One month later I receive a message from Loopmasters, saying:"Could you please remove those download links from your videos? If not, we have the right  to  ask YouTube to take down your chanel." And that´s exactly what happened, they took down my chanel. Maybe the admin of DS received a copyright warning... Let´s hope all this is only a break

Anyway, for the moment is better, and paraphrasing Depeche Mode: "To grab all we can in large amounts". Just in case they decide to take down DS.scream

I used this site to find new Groups, new Music and to keep an overview over the releases of hundreds of Bands. That was a big benefit of this site.
This site is thus a curse and a blessing. Of course, it reaches multiplier who spread the music - but every user downloading material - especially rare material - brings the artists around their gage. It's a mess.

I agree with Chameleon. The entitled, rude people who came on here for free shit and then whined, bitched, and got all irate when stuff was only available through TB would've been enough reason for me to abandon the site if I were the owner....they annoyed the fuck out of me.

DS offered thousands of releases for free over the past several years; who cares if s/he made some money from it by using TB...IMO that's compensation for time and effort. No one's entitled to anything, and if you came here always looking for a freebie, guess what: if you want the music that badly, pay for it like most people do. Sure it's nice to have access to it, but no one deserves free music.

I've spent tens of thousands of dollars on music over the past 35 years, most of that on CDs when they were the only option. I did it b/c I love music, wanted to support the artists, and made a conscious choice that I wanted to spend my money that way. It's been nice over the last decade or so to have access to free music, but I'm not entitled to it. If free downloads weren't an option, I'd continue to buy stuff the same as I did for many years.

For me, this site was the best way to learn about new releases from artists I like, as well as have an opp to listen to new stuff for free or at a nominal cost (yes, I bought TB access from time to time, and it was perfectly safe and legit). If the site is truly down for good, I will sorely miss it; I wish the owner the best for the future. Thanks for everything you've given us, DS!

I'd say that if this site cannot deliver any more due to copyright-reasons, it's not the smartest idea to post URLs to similar sites here. :)

It's not like they are some secret, darknet level sites. mp3db is iterally on the first page of google search, for every new release.

Can you just inform us about new music, just with youtube or bandcamp links. If it is impossible to upload new music just start to promote new bands/albums just to know what is new on the scene!
