Here I am again. Here are some French bands I think might be of interest.

First of all, Seconde Chambre. A truly special band from the west of France.

Two official albums.

- "Lord Brain" - 1985

- "Seconde Chambre" - 1986

And a third, more confidential album in a very limited edition.

- "An Expensive Party" - 1989 Reissue in 2009 (two CDs) under the name "Victoires Prochaines - 1983-89".

There are also the illustrious Asylum Party (Little Nemo's friend band).

Official discography.

- "Picture One" - 1988

- "Borderline" - 1989

- "Mère" - 1990

Don't forget the single - "Ticket To Ride" - 1990

And the EP

- "Misfortunes" - 1989

Reissue in 2006 with "The Grey Years Volume 1 and 2" As well as a more recent one

- "Some Grey Mornings Vol. 1" - 2021

A third band associated with Little Nemo and Asylum Party; Mary Goes Round with Cécile Balladino (ex-keyboardist of Brigade Internationale).

Official Discography

-"Sunset" - 1989

-"70 Suns In The Sky" - 1989

-"Highway Planet" - 1990

-"Mary In Wonderland" - 1991

Not forgetting the single

-"Mary's Garden" - 1989

The EP

-"Hot Shot In Space" - 1990

And, most importantly, the compilations:

-"Way To Wonderland…" - 2007

-"...Way Back Home" - 2007

Both feature alternate versions, songs released on compilation cassettes, and live tracks. I have to go away, so I'll send you the other bands in another mailing today.

gweilojake,Seconde Chambre is a highly respected band in France. They were quickly noticed, particularly for the quality of their lyrics, which speak of childhood, lost loved ones, the sensations experienced at night, and the hopes of things that will never happen. I've listened to their second album a lot, and I'm still listening.

HYPNAS,  Not the first time you have provided me with a great recommendation!  French coldwave (particularly 80s-90s) has really entered my playlists (used to be dominated by Lebanon Hanover, Twin Tribes and other more contemporary artists) Thanks again!

I'm continuing my selection.

Marquis de Sade. A pioneering band in France (like Guerre Froide). Only two albums that strongly influenced a whole generation of artists, and not just in the cold scene.

-"Dantzig Twist" - 1979

-"Rue De Siam" - 1981

In 1989, there was a careful reissue of these two albums with a new single containing the tracks "Die" and "Rythmiques". Against all odds, the band reformed in 2017 and released a live album!

-"16-09-17"

The success was such that a new album was announced. Unfortunately, the charismatic singer Philippe Pascal took his own life in 2019. The album was released anyway, but with a new singer, and it didn't work out.

When we talk about Marquis de Sade, the name Marc Seberg is not far behind, as it's the name of the band created by the late Philippe just after their breakup in 1981. There were four albums.

- "83" - 1983

- "Le Chant Des Terres" - 1985

- "Lumières et Trahisons" - 1987

- "Au Bout Des Nerfs" - 1990

Another founding band is Orchestre Rouge, founded by Theo Hakola. A short career, but truly essential, with two albums.

- "Yellow Laughter" - 1982

- "More Passion Fodder" - 1983

And there's also a sort of posthumous album released in '84.

- "Des Restes"

Finally, here's Baroque Bordello with two albums.

- "Via" - 1985

- "Paranoiac Songs" - 1986

Don't forget the EP

- "Today" - 1984

And another one released under the name Baroque, but much more pop.

- "Never Come Home" - 1988

Two reissues:

- "83-86" - 2004

- "Via - Paranoiac Songs" - 2005

It's important to note that in 1985, the guitarist and bassist founded a very important band that had a lot of success in England.

The Bonapart's!!!

There are also two truly wonderful albums.

- "Shiny Battles" - 1985

- "Welcome To The Isle Of Dogs" - 1986

One single

- "For Winter / Hymn" - 1986

And a reissue.

-"Shiny Battles - ...To The Isle Of Dogs" - 2005

That's it for today smile
