Vocalist Mona Mur (born Sabine Bredy, in Hamburg, Germany to Polish parents) first graced the German music scene in 1982. In her quest for the angry sound of her times she soon hooked up with FM Einheit, Marc Chung and Alex Hacke of Einstürzende Neubauten. As Mona Mur und die Mieter they recorded the 12inch "Jeszcze Polska", straight away conquering NEW MUSICAL EXPRESS's Single of the Week slot. Distinctly averse to commercial success the group decided to disband after their first release.
