Gateway Drugs

There're two acts with the name Gateway Drugs: 1. South African Synthpop duo 2. American Alt-Rock band
1. Gateway Drugs is formed by two members: Andrew Esterhuizen and David Gabriel Thorpe, of the slightly better known band Beach Party. Together are part of the Surfing Loser Space Cult collective, which also includes The Dollfins. The first single ‘Airwaves’ is from their self-titled debut album and is best described as synthpop – in fact the whole album is in the same vain – and it works surprisingly well.
